Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Blevins is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Blevins maintains a special interest and expertise in sports medicine, knee and shoulder injuries, instability and arthritis. He graduated from UCLA Medical School and completed the Harvard Orthopedic Residency Program. He received sports medicine fellowship training at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado, and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, where he assisted in care of the New York Mets and the New York Giants.

Prior to moving to Durango, Dr. Blevins was an associate professor of orthopedics at the University of New Mexico and a team physician for the U.N.M. Lobos for six years. Dr. Blevins currently cares for team and individual athletes in the Four Corners area, is on the Fort Lewis College Cycling Board of Directors, and is an orthopedic consult at USA Cycling events.

Dr. Blevins has published more than 25 scientific articles, chapter and reviews of knee and shoulder injuries and sports medicine topics. He enjoys cycling, skiing, running and triathlons, in addition to being a former P.R.C.A. rodeo contestant. He and his wife, Priscilla, have completed the Vail Ultra 100-Miles Mountain Bike Race twice on their tandem mountain bike.
